I have not written about him 

Or about us

Or what we have been

And even what I can envision us being 

I have not written about the depth of our love

How far it has already stretched 

How it has covered us

And what it feels like to be loved intentionally

I have not written about my God

Or his Allah

I have not written about how I say

Insha’Allah

And Shukran 

And Tamaaf

Unknowingly

I have not written about this

Because I don’t know how they will react

But I raise may hands

Cupped in front of me

Inwardly facing me 

And I pray for us
